Fallen Dynasty at Penn State

Looks like the NCAA has slapped Penn State University back to reality. For those of you not able to hear the news yet, Penn State has been hit with some heavy duty, pocket lightening penalties today. These sanctions were imposed because of the cover up of the Sandusky escapades:

  1. $60 million dollars to set up a fund for abused children
  2. Banned from College Bowl participation for the next four years
  3. Number of scholarships reduced from 25 to 15 for the next four years
  4. All football victories from 1998 to 2011 wiped away
For those not in the know, the 2nd and 3rd items really get into the pockets of the university!! There is quite a bit of money generated by the Bowl games and you can hardly rebuild your program when the number of scholarships is basically cut in half.

The 4th item might need some explaining to some people but I understand exactly what the NCAA did! 1998 is the year Sandusky was reported to have started pounding boys in the butt ON CAMPUS GROUNDS AND AT OTHER FOOTBALL FUNCTIONS. 2011 is when they finally did something about it.

Some people will play "Hero Worship" and ask why would you take victories away from Joe Paterno and the athletes that had nothing to do with it. My question to those people is this; Do you think the assistant coach ONLY told Paterno? How many of you could witness something like that and NOT tell your friends? I know I would have told more than one person! This sanction was levied because Paterno and, I believe, quite a few other people connected to the athletic department KNEW what was going on and did nothing about it for fear of damaging the reputation of the football program. As a result of their inaction, many more boys got their butts poked and their lives scarred forever. That deserves GREAT punishment!!

The university is quite lucky that I was not the one deciding their punishment. The ENTIRE football program would have been abolished for thirteen years and a few more people would join Sandusky in prison. I am a very kind person but when you take advantage of young kids, boys or girls, I will strike you with lightning bolts if I can get my hands on them!! That's my dose of reality for the day!

Jesse Jackson, Jr. Exhausted! Really??

An article at TheHill.com has the headline "Questions mount over Jackson Jr's Absence". The democratic spin is that JJ has worked himself to exhaustion in the House of Representatives. REALLY?? What is he doing that the other 434 representatives are not doing? Why are they not so exhausted that they have to take medical leave until after the election?
The reality of the situation is that Jackson, Jr. is under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for his involvement in the Blagoyevich fiasco. It has been rumored that he was throwing around "favors" to try to get the Senate seat vacated by Obama. Rather than admit the truth, democrats do what they do best; Spin, cheat, lie, repeat.
The other reality check from this story is that Rep. Luis Gutierrez and Sen. Dick Durbin have some things in common that are really interesting:

  1. They are both Democrat
  2. They both represent Illinois
  3. They both voted AGAINST the contempt charges for Eric Holder
  4. They are both DEMANDING that Jackson come forward with more details about his absence
The third and fourth items are the objects of the reality check. Here you have an Attorney General who has obviously been untruthful to Congress, the American people and, most importantly, the family of Brian Terry. Their attitude toward that is "Move along. There's nothing to see here". Another man misses a few days of work because he is under investigation......I mean exhausted, and it's "Katie, bar the door!! We have to get to the bottom of this!!" Really??

Saving Money by Closing Border Patrol Stations. Really??

Hello fellow conservatives! (Hopefully, a few liberals will sneak in and check things out) I have started this blog to give you my insight into some of the items making news. Let me dive right in.

It was announced today that the administration is closing eight border patrol stations on the US / Mexico border. Now, the first words out of the reporter's mouth after reading the headline were "This has nothing to do with the recent announcement concerning immigration enforcement". REALLY?? You announced a few days ago that you will not be enforcing any immigration laws but this move has nothing to do with that?? Just how stupid do they think we are? Why would you close these stations and reassign the agents working there FOUR MONTHS BEFORE THE ELECTION?? (Wouldn't have anything to do with the illegals voting democrat 98% of the time, would it?? Wonder if they would enforce immigration law on an illegal who said he would vote republican) Well, they answered that question. The claim is to save money!! Again, REALLY??

According to the report, this move will save a whopping one million dollars per year!!! Don't misunderstand me, one million dollars USED TO BE a lot of money. This administration currently spends SEVENTY EIGHT BILLION dollars a year for the food stamp program AND they continue to advertise to recruit more recipients. Many more billions are wasted by giving benefits to those who are here illegally, do not pay taxes into the system and, therefore, are not eligible to receive any benefits. Yet they want you to believe that saving one million a year is worth further opening our borders to illegals!! How about a little bit of reality, people!!
